Founded in Athens in 2014, Optimum was established as a dedicated ship‑management subsidiary within the Scorpio family, one of the world’s leading operators in seaborne energy transportation. From the outset, the company has overseen a versatile fleet of clean product and crude oil tankers, bulk carriers, and articulated bulk barges, while also managing two manning agencies that support its extensive pool of seafarer talent.
Although the Optimum brand is relatively young, the team behind it brings decades of tanker‑management expertise, with collective experience dating back to 1993.
Attracted by Greece’s deep maritime heritage and skilled workforce, Scorpio invested in building a strong technical and managerial presence in Athens. This commitment to people and maritime know‑how continues to drive Optimum’s mission to deliver safe, reliable, and consistently high‑quality ship‑management services across the Scorpio fleet.
