Optimum S.S. Ltd. convened with their Officers and Crew to enhance them the company’s policies and core values, improve their safety & environmental awareness and spread the culture of “Do it the Right way“!

Hence, the 2nd Quarter 2016 Crew Conference’ was successfully held in Vladivostok on 30, 31 May & 1 June 2016

The topics featured during the first two days of the conference, included OSS Presentation, Fleets performances, Anchor Awareness (Reflective Learning), Media Handling, New Approach in Safety (LET/Resiliance/When things go Wrong), IT issues & Videotel Presentation, Learning from the Past, SECAT Presentation, Commercial Issues and Oil Record Book Workshop. While the third day all seafarers successfully completed the Management of Rest Hours Workshop!

The conference contained several shipping key elements on which there was strong convergence of the views by speakers, including Cpt. George Vasilakis (Management Director, Optimum S.S. Ltd.), Cpt. Panagiotis Bitsakis (Head of Crew, Optimum S.S. Ltd.), Cpt. Dean Menezes (Environmental Manager, SECAT), Cpt. Luca Caroni (SBI/STI Ops Mngr, Scorpio), Mr. Kjell Sundberg (Videotel Representative), Mr. Albano Adrian (Scorpio Vessel IT Support), Cpt. Sanjiv Sehgal (ILO certified MLC Train the Trainer) & Mr. Ktenas Aristotelis (HSQE Officer, Optimum S.S. Ltd.).

Overall, the conference brought together managers and seafarers to share best practice in managing risks and work on the key elements of their daily tasks.
